Okay, we’ve opened the wardrobe doors.

Now apparently I’ve decided to dress everybody.

Welcome to The Summer Style Edit — our first proper fashion series on Hayls Beauty Tales.

And we’re not just doing women’s fashion.

We’re doing:

Women.

Men.

Teens.

Children.

Babies.

And because I couldn’t possibly create a Hayls edit without wandering back towards the beauty cupboard…

Beauty too. Obviously.

Think of this as one big celebration of getting everyone dressed, packed, polished and ready for summer.

☀️ Why a Summer Style Edit?

Because summer shopping is one of those things that sounds incredibly simple until you actually start doing it.

You need a few summer clothes.

Easy.

Then you remember the holiday.

The shoes.

The swimming stuff.

The children have apparently grown seventeen inches since last summer.

Someone needs a hat.

Someone else needs sandals.

The baby needs approximately four outfits for every day you’re away because babies apparently have no respect for luggage allowances.

And somehow you haven’t even thought about what you’re wearing yet.

Suddenly your innocent little summer shopping trip has become a military operation.

So we’re breaking it down.

👗 The Women’s Edit

Let’s begin with us.

I’m looking for pieces that make summer dressing easier.

Beautiful dresses you can throw on and instantly look like you’ve made considerably more effort than you actually have.

Easy separates.

Shorts.

Lightweight trousers.

Pretty tops.

Swimwear.

Sandals.

Bags.

Jewellery.

And those little finishing touches that make something already sitting in your wardrobe feel exciting again.

There will absolutely be trends.

But I’m much more interested in finding pieces you’ll genuinely want to wear.

👕 The Men’s Edit

The men aren’t escaping.

We’ll be looking at easy summer staples, holiday pieces and the things that can actually work across more than one outfit.

Polos.

Shirts.

Shorts.

Lightweight trousers.

Trainers.

Sandals.

Swimwear.

Accessories.

Basically: how to build a summer wardrobe without somehow ending up with eleven almost-identical T-shirts.

Although I make no promises.

🕶️ The Teen Edit

This one needs its own space.

Because teenagers usually know exactly what they like.

And exactly what they absolutely will not wear.

😂

So the Teen Summer Style Edit will be more trend-led.

We’ll look at what’s actually feeling current, the pieces that can be mixed with things already in the wardrobe and some fun accessories that don’t require replacing everything they own.

Summer should be a good time to experiment with style.

🏖️ The Children’s Edit

Children’s summer clothes need to pass a slightly different test.

Can they actually play in them?

I want fun pieces.

Colour.

Easy outfits.

Holiday clothes.

Swimwear.

Sandals.

Sun hats.

Things for days out.

Things for the garden.

And outfits that look adorable without requiring the child wearing them to behave like a tiny catalogue model for six hours.

Because they’re going to get grass on it.

We know this.

🍼 The Baby Edit

Tiny summer clothes might be dangerously cute.

There.

Conflict of interest declared.

😂

We’ll look at comfortable warm-weather pieces, practical basics, sun hats, little holiday outfits and those ridiculously adorable items you absolutely did not intend to buy until you saw them.

Comfort comes first.

Cuteness will inevitably follow.

💄 And Of Course… The Beauty Edit

You didn’t think I’d forgotten, did you?

After all, we’ve spent the summer talking about juicy lips, peachy cheeks, happy hair, summer nails and the products that have genuinely earned a place in my routine.

So we’re pulling everything together.

The Summer Beauty Edit will be the finishing touch.

Hair.

Skin.

Makeup.

Nails.

Fragrance.

Body care.

Holiday beauty.

And the products I think are actually worth making room for in the beauty bag.

Because a summer style series without beauty would simply not be Hayls Beauty Tales.

🧳 We’re Going to Make Packing Easier Too

There’s another reason I wanted to do this series.

I want us to be able to reach the end and practically have our summer suitcase planned.

Not by buying everything featured.

Absolutely not.

Start with what you own.

Then fill the genuine gaps.

If you’ve already got the perfect summer dress, wear it.

If last year’s sandals are still fabulous, they’re coming too.

If you’ve rediscovered a lipstick you love, congratulations — your beauty shopping just became cheaper.

The goal isn’t:

BUY ALL THE THINGS.

It’s:

Find the things that make your summer better.

So that’s the plan.

Over the next few posts we’re dressing the whole family.

Women → Men → Teens → Children → Babies → Beauty.

There will be practical finds.

There will be pretty things.

There will be trends.

There will be old favourites.

There will almost certainly be something completely unnecessary that I decide we all desperately need.
